Walkthrough

  1. Meet the master at Longha Brewery
    'Five stills across five towns, one for every year I worked them. Brew a batch at each. Come back if all five come back clean.'
  2. Brew a batch at Shortha
    The Shortha still runs hot off river water; you cut the heat twice and the mash settles. The brewer's note in the lid says 'good.'
  3. Brew a batch at Farmhold
    Farmhold's still has been patched four times. You work around the warped seam and the batch comes out a shade dark, but the smell is right.
  4. Brew a batch at Battlefrost
    Cold air slows the rise. You stoke the coals an extra hour and the batch sets before the night patrol comes through. Nobody asks what's in the cask.
  5. Close the test at Sandport
    Sandport's brewer tastes the last batch, then yours, then slides yours back. 'The master sent you, and the master was right.'
