Sootstep Trail Runner

Sootstep's courier guild lost two runners to bad backs and the post is piling up.

Walkthrough

1. Take the post bag at Sootstep Bank
   'Two of my runners blew their knees in a week. Post is three days behind. You walk fast? Good. Take the bag, hit the trail, don't open the sealed letters.'
2. Run the trail circuit
   The trail is long and dry. You set a pace the old runners would have called showy. Your knees agree. The bag is half its weight by the third drop.
3. Deliver to the grove camp
   The grove forester signs the slip without looking up from a snare. 'On time for once. Tell the guild I'll renew the contract if they stop sending the slow ones.'
4. Rest at the spit
   The spit keeper hands you hot fish and water and asks no questions. You eat without sitting down because if you sit you won't get up.
5. Drop the empty bag at the bank
   'Three days in one. Forester renewed. You earned a permanent slot on the rotation. Pay's better than mine and I'm the one with the desk. Sign here.'
