The Snowthorn shaft foreman wants the lower seams checked before he risks a full crew.

Requirements

Meet the foreman at Snowthorn Bank
'Last shift heard the rock groan three times in an hour. I'm not sending fifteen men down there blind. Take a pick and tell me what's pulling.'
Sample the upper vein
The upper vein runs clean for ten feet then twists east. Whatever's pulling on the rock is deeper down.
Descend to the deep shaft
The deep shaft opens onto a seam wider than the foreman's office. Mithril, clean as river ice. Three groans in an hour was the rock settling around it.
Eat and rest at the Snowthorn Spit
The cook hands you a bowl without asking. 'Foreman told me to feed you if you came back up. That's a good sign.'
Report to the foreman
He reads the sample twice. 'Mithril, this clean? You bought my crew six months of paid work. Take this and don't tell anyone where it came from.'
