Shadeshore Deep Run

Catches get stranger the further out the lines go. The harbormaster wants one documented and cooked.

Requirements

Report to the Shadeshore harbormaster
'Three boats came in this week with fish no one on the dock recognizes. The deep run is bringing up things that shouldn't be near the surface. Bring me one, cooked, so we know it's safe.'
Run the deep lines off Shadeshore
Your line tugs hard twice and then goes still. What comes up has too many eyes and the wrong color gills. It's heavy. You haul it across the rocks to the spit.
Cook the strange catch on the spit
The fish hisses on the hot stone and the flesh turns white the way a normal catch does. The smell is plain seafood. Whatever it is, it cooks like a fish.
Show the cook to the den's tracker
The tracker prods the cooked fish with a knife. 'I've seen scales like this on a dead thing washed up at Woodwater last spring. Twice the size of this one.'
Return the report to the harbormaster
'Twice the size. The tracker doesn't exaggerate.' She rolls the report and seals it. 'Woodwater needs to hear this. I'll send a runner. You go ahead.'
