Find the binding circle in the court
The circle is fresh chalk and salt over older lines burned into the stone. Four wax seals on the perimeter, one cracked. The thing inside the circle bows when it sees you. 'A reasonable face. We were just settling terms.'
Trace the summoning at the Veilbridge Rift
The rift hums with the same key. The summoner reached through this bridge.
Silence the first signed debtor
The first name on the ledger never came back human. It tries the same calm voice as the one at Drypocket. You don't let it finish the sentence. One name struck.
Break the circle's enforcer
The enforcer was waiting for the third name to cross out. It fought like a clerk who'd never lost a contract. You took it apart on its own salt lines.
Burn the seals at the font
Four seals into the imbue stream. The wax pops one by one. The circle goes dark and the chalk lifts in a wind that doesn't belong indoors. The ward-tender writes in her log. 'Circle broken. Source upstream. Sootstep.'
